  • 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 4 tbsp Butter

For the Lebkuchen

  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 tbsp Mixed spices Fresh spices for best results
  • 1/2 cup Candied citrus peel
  • 1/2 cup Ground nuts Use fresh, if possible
  • 2 cups Flour

Instructions
 

Preparation of Black Forest Cake

  • Prepare chocolate sponge cake layers according to recipe directions.
  • Whip the cream and prepare the cherries.
  • Assemble the cake by layering sponge with cherries and cream.
  • Chill the cake between layers for easier assembly.

Preparation of Apple Strudel

  • Prepare the strudel dough, stretching it until paper-thin.
  • Peel and slice the tart apples.
  • Combine apples with breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and raisins.
  • Fill the dough with the apple mixture and roll it up.
  • Brush with butter before baking.

Preparation of Lebkuchen

  • Mix honey, spices, and other ingredients in a bowl.
  • Knead the dough and let it age overnight.
  • Shape into cookies and bake in the oven.
  • Store with an apple slice to keep soft.

Notes
