  • 8-10 units Mussels or clams, pre-cooked and removed from shells
  • 6-8 rings Calamari
  • 4-6 units Oysters, shucked

Instructions

Preparation of Dough

  • Start by bringing your pizza dough to room temperature if it has been refrigerated, which typically takes about 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle a clean surface with flour and gently stretch the dough using your hands instead of a rolling pin to preserve the air bubbles.

Preparation of Seafood

  • Rinse all seafood under cold water and pat thoroughly dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Lightly season the seafood with salt and pepper.
  • For additional flavor, sauté the seafood in olive oil with garlic for 30-45 seconds.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet inside.
  • Brush a mixture of olive oil and minced garlic onto the stretched dough.
  • Spread the sauce in a thin layer on the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle about two-thirds of the cheese over the sauce, then add the seafood evenly across the pizza.
  • Top with the remaining cheese and a light touch of red pepper flakes if desired.

Baking the Pizza

  • Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  • Avoid opening the oven door for the first 8-10 minutes to maintain the heat.

Finishing

  • Sprinkle fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon juice on top before serving.
  • Let it rest for 3-5 minutes before slicing with a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

Notes

Consider whole wheat or cauliflower crusts for a healthier option. Always ensure the seafood is fresh and well-prepared.
