Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes, ensuring they're roughly the same size for even cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
  • Add the chicken cubes to the seasoning mixture and toss until each piece is evenly coated. Sprinkle the flour over the chicken and toss again until lightly coated.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  • Add the chicken cubes to the hot pan in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes without disturbing them.
  • Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for an additional 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the honey and lemon juice to the pan. Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes until reduced to a glossy glaze.
  • Cook for a final 1-2 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the glaze has thickened slightly.
  • Remove from heat and allow to rest for 1 minute before serving.
