Base Ingredients

  • 2 packages instant ramen noodles Discard or save seasoning packets for another use.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or sesame oil) For more authentic flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced The aromatic foundation that adds depth.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated For a warming, slightly spicy kick.
  • 2-3 cups mixed vegetables Such as bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, snap peas, and mushrooms.
  • 1 cup protein of choice (diced chicken, beef, tofu, or shrimp) Customize based on your preference.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) For seasoning.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Adds richness and umami depth.
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar or honey Balances the saltiness with subtle sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Adds brightness and acidity.
  • 1-2 teaspoons sriracha or chili oil Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil For finishing touch and nutty aroma.

Optional Garnishes

  • sliced green onions For freshness and color.
  • toasted sesame seeds For texture and visual appeal.
  • cilantro leaves For herbaceous brightness.
  • lime wedges For a citrusy finish.
  • crushed peanuts For added crunch and protein.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook instant ramen noodles according to package instructions, reducing cooking time by 1 minute. Drain, rinse under cold water, and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar or honey, rice vinegar, sriracha, and half of the sesame oil until dissolved.

Cooking

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add protein and cook until done; remove and set aside.
  • Add remaining oil to the wok, sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds, then add vegetables. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  • Return protein to the wok, add drained ramen noodles, and pour sauce over everything. Toss gently for 1-2 minutes.
  • Drizzle with remaining sesame oil, toss again, and serve garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, and other optional toppings.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding garlic and butter to the oil. For creaminess, whisk in a dollop of peanut butter into the sauce.
