Ingredients
  

For the Apfelstrudel

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6-7 pieces tart apples peeled and sliced thinly
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted butter for brushing

For the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte

  • 6 pieces eggs separated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups heavy cream for whipping
  • 1 jar sour cherries
  • to taste Kirschwasser (cherry brandy)
  • to taste Dark chocolate for decoration

For the Berliner Pfannkuchen

  • 1 batch doughnut dough prepared appropriately

Instructions
 

Preparing Apfelstrudel

  • Make the dough by combining flour, water, and oil. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Rest the dough for 30 minutes under a warm bowl.
  • Roll dough on a floured cloth until paper-thin.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  • Layer apples, raisins, nuts, and cinnamon.
  • Roll using the cloth as a guide.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes until golden brown.

Preparing Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte

  • Make chocolate sponge layers by separating eggs and beating whites until stiff.
  • Fold in remaining ingredients carefully.
  • Bake in three layers at 350°F (175°C).
  • Whip cream with vanilla sugar.
  • Drain cherries, reserving juice.
  • Brush each layer with Kirschwasser and cherry juice.
  • Layer with whipped cream and cherries.
  • Decorate with chocolate shavings.

Preparing Berliner Pfannkuchen

  • Prepare the doughnut dough and fry until golden brown.
  • Fill with jam or custard and glaze if desired.
