  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For flavor enhancement.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and ensure cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • If bacon is uncooked, bake in a 400°F oven for 15-20 minutes. Reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon grease if desired.

Setup

  • Spray crockpot with non-stick cooking spray or use a liner.
  • Arrange chicken in a single layer at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle ranch seasoning evenly over chicken.
  • Place cubed cream cheese on top of chicken.
  • Pour chicken broth around the edges of the crockpot.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and set to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Avoid lifting the lid during cooking.

Shredding

  • After cooking, shred chicken with two forks directly in the crockpot.
  • Return lid if chicken is not easily shreddable and cook for an additional 30-45 minutes.

Final Touches

  • Add crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese, stir gently.
  • Incorporate garlic powder and black pepper.
  • Let it rest on warm setting for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  • Add fresh chives or green onions just before serving.
