  • 2 cups cooked meat (ham, bacon, or sausage) Diced into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 medium onion Finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced
  • 3 medium potatoes Peeled and diced into 1/2-inch cubes

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper To taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Adds flavor and color
  • 1 teaspoon thyme Fresh or dried, for extra flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Dice 2 cups of cooked meat into bite-sized pieces.
  • Finely chop 1 medium onion and mince 2 cloves of garlic.
  • Peel and dice 3 medium potatoes into 1/2-inch cubes.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the diced meat until slightly browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the diced potatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and lightly golden, approximately 10-15 minutes.
  • Return the cooked meat to the skillet, mix together, season with desired spices, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Notes

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or chives if desired. This hash pairs well with eggs, toast, or hash browns for a complete breakfast.
